ZEN ZONE WORKSHOPS
Kurt Yungeburg Tai Chi

11:00 am Saturday

Tai chi is a non-competitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise. To do tai chi, you perform a defined series of postures or movements in a slow, graceful manner. Each movement or posture flows into the next without pausing. Tai chi is sometimes described as “meditation in motion.” Originally developed in China as a form of self-defense, this graceful form of exercise has existed for about 2,000 years. It’s becoming increasingly popular around the world, both as a basic exercise program and as a complement to other health care methods. Health benefits include stress reduction, greater balance, and increased flexibility.
Integrative Medicine

1:00 pm Saturday

This workshop will encompass a discussion on integrative medicine, which is described as the practice of combining alternative medicinal treatments with conventional medicine. We will discuss the purpose and benefits of adding this practice into our everyday lifestyles.

Dr. Jacqueline Fields M.D. has been a practicing physician for 13 years and is board certified in both family practice and holistic medicine. She trained during medical school with Dr. Andrew Weil, Patch Adams and Deepak Chopra.
Begin Within: The Yoga of Sustainability

3:00 pm Saturday

Yoga means union — of mind and body, breath and movement, people and planet. With the energy we put into saving the planet we often forget about ourselves. What type of fuel are we running on? Does the river flowing inside of us need to be saved? In this class we’ll address common areas of tightness/weakness and put together a well rounded yoga practice leaving you feeling refreshed and energized! All levels welcome. Presented by Jake Van Vonderen of Old Town Yoga Studio

Breath of Light: Chakra Breathing for Accelerated Healing

1:00 pm Sunday

In this interactive session with Spiritual Healing Facilitator, Margaret Gilfoyle, we will be experiencing a powerful healing modality based on the truth that everything is energy, and energy can be transformed. Intentional prayer and personal focus collaborate with spiritual assistance as you breathe Divine Light into the body’s chakra system, or energy centers, during the Breath of Light. The synergy created triggers release of energetic congestion, patterns and imprints blocking health on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. The Breath of Light is the flow of sequential patterns given Margaret through spiritual guidance to cleanse and invigorate/heal the human body. Prevention: A Sustainable Approach to Health Preservation Through Chinese Medicine

3:00 pm Sunday

Chinese medicine is a full spectrum system which includes health preservation as well as treatment of disease. This workshop will highlight how Chinese medicine plays a significant and necessary role in our modern medical paradigm. It is absolutely time to take seriously the idea of integrating complementary therapies into our current medical model. Through the use of low impact modalities and natural medicinals, Chinese medicine minimizes the environmental impact of products ingested and eliminated. Chinese medicine is a medical system that continues to evolve over millennia and is effective in the treatment of multiple health disorders. Presented by Michael Johnson
