2009 Blue & Green Ball

Friday, September 18, 7-10 PM
At the Sustainable Living Fair Venue
North West corner of Lemay Avenue & Vine Drive
Fort Collins, Colorado

Come enjoy an elegant, exciting and fun evening event that will be mindfully conscious, green and gorgeous. The important message for attendees will be the need to create change here and now, to be concerned about the future today, and to make a difference in this area that will last lifetimes.

Special guests include: Bryan Welch, publisher of Mother Earth News, Jessica Kellner, managing editor of Natural Home Magazine, Joseph Cornell, founder of the Sharing Nature Foundation and Joshua Onysko, founder of Pangea Organics.

The Blue & Green Ball will be the only Fort Collins social event staged in an elegantly appointed, beautifully green-themed tent. Everything about the event will be green – from attire suggestions to eco-centric decorations.

The event will also be environmentally green, with exquisite all-natural and local gourmet appetizers, innovative energy alternatives, and zero-waste stations. The event will be 100% carbon neutral, through partnership with the Colorado Carbon Fund to offset the event’s already minimized footprint. New Belgium Brewing Company will bottle a commemorative beer that is both local and organic just for the event.

Live entertainment includes exotic bluegrass provided by the Jalan Crossland Band, recent recipient of the finger pickin’ champion award. Minister Server will be emceeing and is a driving force in the ethical development of the Temple of Hip Hop and has been involved in social activism and justice for most of his life.

This will be an evening that makes a difference…to our guests, to our respective organizations, to our community.

Tickets: $50 in advance and at the Door. Must be 21 to attend. Pre-registration is required, limited to 350 tickets.

Attire Suggestions: Attire is “green tie”: blue or green cocktail dresses for the ladies, blue or green ties for the gents. Think eco-elegant! Repurpose something you already own, bewitch us in that bridesmaid’s dress, or thrill us with thrift store couture … green glamour is the order of the evening. Tux and tails optional, sense of humor suggested.
