In this one-day seminar, participants will learn the importance of shearing llamas and alpacas.  They will have hands-on experience with sorting, skirting and washing a raw fleece.  Hand cards, drum carders and combs will be used to prepare the fleece for spinning.  Handspindles and spinning wheels will be used to teach the basics of Spinning creating beautiful soft, warm yarns for knitting and weaving.  Seminar is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is for anyone 12 years of age and older.  Participants should bring their own snacks, beverages, lunch, pencils, notebook, etc.  All equipment, llama and alpaca fibers and hand-outs will be provided by instructor.
