Workshop Description

Do you have an old favorite sweater that suffered the wrath of the washing machine, leaving it barely big enough to fit your lap dog?  Perhaps your sweater has stayed the same size but you have outgrown it?  Do you have a beloved old vintage sweater that your teenagers won’t let you wear when they’re with you?  If yes, this class will teach you how to turn the somewhat smaller or outdated version of your favorite sweater into a whimsical gift or cozy household item for the Holidays or any day.  Wool clothing upcycling has recently become a favorite for environmentally chic crafters and this class will provide tips for getting started toward transforming old wool items that you rescue from the back of your closet or from your favorite thrift store into textural, one-of-a-kind home decor items or gifts.  Design, create and take home either a decorative wine bottle bag, pin cushion or Christmas ornament and lots of new ideas for this fun, sustainable and low-cost hobby.  Viva la wool!
