Joshua Onysko - Founder and CEO, Pangea Organics
Saturday, September 19, 2009 - 2pm
It was Pangea founder and CEO Joshua Onysko's personal devotion and commitment to inspiring social sustainability that sparked the inception of Pangea Organics seven years ago. He devised the selling of the highest quality organic, personal care products as a means to an even greater end. After seven years of traveling to the likes of India, Nepal, and Tibet, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Thailand, Onysko had an epiphany: He realized that corporations were inheriting the earth and that by leading by example there was potential to influence others to reconsider their ways.
Pangea Organics is currently the largest cold-processed organic soap manufacturer in the US. In addition to bar soap, the line also includes shower gel, liquid hand soap, hand and body lotion, facial cleanser, facial toner, facial cream, facial mask, facial scrub and lip balm. Throughout Pangea's growth, from its inception in 2001, Onysko, 30, has retained private ownership of his company, never straying from its vision: Ecocentric bodycare; always beneficial, never artificial. Pangea's number one goal is to create a new understanding of health and beauty. With this, Pangea hopes to reinvent the way we, as a society, nurture our bodies and raise the bar for other companies. What we consume today, directly impacts how we - and future generations - will live tomorrow.

Joseph Cornell - Author of Sharing Nature with Children, Founder of the Sharing Nature Foundation
Sunday, September 20, 2009 - 12pm
Joseph Cornell is one the most inspiring nature educators in the world today. His first book, Sharing Nature with Children, sparked a worldwide revolution in nature education and became a classic. His six Sharing Nature Books have been translated into twenty languages and are used by educators and nature enthusiasts all over the world. Mr. Cornell’s second book, Listening to Nature, has inspired thousands of adults to deepen their relationship and experience of nature.
Mr. Cornell is the founder and director of Sharing Nature Worldwide, a popular, well-loved nature awareness program for children and adults. He is the honorary president of the Sharing Nature Japan an organization of 11,000 leaders and 224 regional associations. The Japanese Ministry of Education, in 1997, officially recognized Sharing Nature Japan (Nature Game Association) as a “public service corporation” – a rare designation given only to a few widely recognized service groups, such as the Boy Scouts and YMCA. Joseph frequently travels to work with groups in other countries as well as in the United States.
The National Association for Interpretation said of Mr. Cornell, “His expertise, irrepressible enthusiasm, blend of knowledge and warmth creates an atmosphere for learning that is very contagious.”
Joseph has lived for over thirty years in Ananda Village, near Nevada City, California. Based on the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda and his close disciple, Swami Kriyananda, Ananda Village is one of the most successful intentional communities in the world today. Joseph’s service at Ananda includes teaching and writing on meditation and other inspirational topics. He directs Ananda Meditation Support, which offers free online instruction and inspiration to thousands of people. To find out more about Mr. Cornell’s activities, visit http://www.giftofpeace.org/.

Joseph Cornell has received many awards for his Sharing Nature books and programs. He received the prestigious Honorary Award from the National Association of Interpretation, "For his vast contribution to the field of natural science education...." The Hungarian Society for Environmental Education awarded him with an Honorary Membership for his "service as a role model for educators worldwide." And in 2001, he received an honorary doctoral degree from Unity College in Maine, "For his illustrious career as a nature educator and writer."
