Tour de Farms

Celebrate healthy eating and active living!

In a leisurely 5-10 mile interactive bike ride, participants will tour the Oldtown Farmers' Market, visit three cutting edge urban agriculture projects, hear presentations from farmers, gain useful tools and knowledge for your own garden and find out ways you can support area efforts to strengthen our local food system. The day will culminate at the Oldtown Farmers' Market with a delicious seasonal lunch made from local ingredients by the Fort Collins Food Coop.

Come prepared with your bike, jacket, helmet and plenty of water. First aid and proficient cyclists will be on hand throughout the tour for assistance.

    TOUR SCHEDULE
  • Depart from the Old Town Farmers’ Market
  • Ride to Happy Heart Farm where Happy Heart Farmers Dennis and Bailey will discuss what it takes to sow the seeds of a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model.
  • Ride to Wolfmoon Farm’s Greenhouse and garden to enjoy a snack and learn about seasonal planting, greenhouse growing and companion planting.
  • Ride to visit the home and admire the gardens of true locavores.
  • We’ll end at the Old Town Farmers’ Market with a market tour by Linda Hoffman of Come Back to The Table who will teach us how to pick out the best produce and a delicious lunch provided by the Fort Collins Food Coop.

REGISTRATION FOR THE TOUR DE FARMS IS NOW FULL

Tour de Farms is presented by the Rocky Mountain Sustainable Living Association to highlight important elements of sustainable communities and our local living economy.

The cost of the tour is $10 per participant. Lunch will be provided.
